James Hemmer
President & Chief Executive Officer
James Hemmer has more than 25 years of experience in the hi-tech and communications industries, and has been a senior executive at companies in all stages of development from early stage to Fortune 500.
For the past 8 years, Jim has been President and CEO of Antenna. Under his direction, Antenna has evolved from very early stage to the leader of the enterprise mobility market. He has achieved this by consistently executing on a clear vision for how the market would develop and a having a keen understanding of enterprise customers’ needs. A dynamic company in a dynamic market, Antenna has continued to experience steady organic growth, which has been accelerated by 4 strategic acquisitions of competitors and related technology companies. Today, Antenna is the trusted mobility partner of the world’s leading companies.
Prior to joining Antenna, Jim was senior vice president and general manager for ADC Corporation's [NASDAQ: ADCT] Software Services Division. Jim accepted the position in February 2001 following ADC's acquisition of CommTech Corporation, an enterprise software company focused on the telecommunications service provider market, where he was president and chief operating officer.
Prior to CommTech, Jim was senior vice president of operations at Cap Gemini Telecommunications, a division of Cap Gemini Group. He was responsible for operations and sales in the telecommunications sector, the fastest-growing segment of Cap Gemini's North American organization.
Jim also played a key role as a member of the senior leadership team at Computer Sciences Corporation [NYSE: CSC], establishing a substantial global communications business for the company. During his nine years at CSC, Jim ran the company's Asia-Pacific communications business unit, managed a global customer care and billing product-line organization, and developed the company's European communications business unit in London.
Jim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Rutgers University and a Master of Business Administration degree from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Bill Korn
Chief Financial Officer
Bill Korn has 25 years of experience at the helm of fast-growth technology companies. Since joining Antenna in 2003, Korn has been instrumental in the growth of the company into what it is today – the de facto enterprise mobility leader and market driver. Bill was recently inducted into the New Jersey Technology Council (NJTC) Hall of Fame, an honor that is presented to a highly esteemed CFO that has elevated himself to a level of recognition among peers, community and industry influencers.
Prior to joining Antenna, Bill was CFO of iRail, LLC, a provider of procurement solutions for transit agencies, where he continues to have a board seat. Bill was President of Telelogue, a venture-backed Bell Labs spin-out creating advanced speech recognition technology, and was both COO and CFO of INFONXX, an Inc. 500 company providing directory assistance services to the wireless industry.
Bill also served as CFO of Integrion Financial Network, a joint venture of IBM and 19 major financial institutions, and INCOMNET, a public company that designed and built data communications computers.
Bill spent ten years with IBM building their global services business, and was a founder of IBM Consulting Group. He was part of the corporate strategy team which created IBM's services strategy during Lou Gerstner's first year as CEO.
Bill received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Harvard College and a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
Jim Somers
Chief Marketing & Strategy Officer
Jim Somers, an accomplished mobile executive with more than 15 years of experience in technology, communications and software industries, is responsible for overseeing Antenna’s global marketing initiatives, creating a strong brand, and amplifying Antenna’s leadership voice in the enterprise mobility sector. In his role, Jim is also responsible for corporate strategy and ensures it gets executed across all levels of the company.
Jim comes to Antenna with a proven track record of leading successful product launches in both the consumer and business technology markets. Prior to joining Antenna, he was VP, Marketing for Fiberlink Communications, a leading provider of mobile workforce solutions for global multinational enterprises. During his time at Fiberlink, Jim was instrumental in repositioning the company from a network-centric access aggregator to a provider of secure mobility software and services.
Jim also spent 4 years at AT&T as a Marketing Director in the company’s Consumer Products Division, overseeing the launch of several new product initiatives including “00” INFO, One Rate, and the company’s initial roll-out of Cable Broadband. Prior to AT&T, Jim worked at Ogilvy & Mather and Lintas Worldwide, managing advertising campaigns for blue-chip brands including American Express, Ryder System, and Chesebrough-Pond's.
Jim earned his Bachelor of Arts in Government & Law from Lafayette College and lives in Northern New Jersey with his wife and three children.
Jim DeSocio
Executive Vice President - Global Sales & Business Development
With more than 20 years experience as a senior executive in leading enterprise software companies, Jim DeSocio is responsible for leading Antenna’s worldwide sales and business development organizations, driving home Antenna’s strong value proposition to customers and partners and growing the company.
Prior to Antenna, Jim served as an executive vice president at Lawson Software. During his twelve year tenure at Lawson, he was responsible for worldwide field operations and was a key driver in the company's growth from a $28 million company to a $344 million company. Since June of 2002, Jim was the senior executive responsible for Lawson's multi-million dollar international retail business unit where he managed worldwide marketing, operations, development, professional services, finance and sales in both the United States and Europe.
Prior to his time at Lawson, Jim held senior sales and marketing positions at Software Plus, Inc. a developer of human resources information systems, and Automatic Business Centers, an application service provider of financial, payroll, and tax services.
Gregg Plekan
Executive Vice President - Technology & Operations
Gregg Plekan, an industry veteran with more than 25 years experience in the technology, communications and utilities markets, oversees Antenna’s product management and R&D initiatives. Focused on 100% customer satisfaction and operational innovation, Gregg manages Antenna’s engineering, operations, customer support, and professional services teams.
Plekan joins Antenna after serving as partner of MTT Technologies', where he was responsible for business development and acquisition in management, strategic, and operations consulting engagements. He managed the company's software engineering and project management programs, and provided consulting services for Qwest, ICG Communications and AT&T Broadband. Prior to that, Plekan held executive management positions at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, where managed the operations through an acquisition and a merger bringing his business unit's value to $30 million.
Previously, Plekan was responsible for business development and alliance management for the Work Force Management suite of products at MDSI, Inc. where he focused on the communications and utility marketplaces. Plekan also held senior management positions during a productive tenure at Computer Sciences Corporation. He served as senior director of product management and technical director of system architecture for work process and network services systems. Plekan was a principal founder and vice president of software engineering for Phoenix Telecom prior to the company's acquisition by CSC. Plekan has a degree in computer science and mathematics from the State University of New York, at Brockport.
Dan Romanello
Vice President - Human Resources
Dan Romanello plans and oversees the development and implementation of the overall human resource management function for Antenna. In this role, he ensures that the company has the necessary human capital strategy, organizational structure and people resources in place to drive rapid, profitable growth.
Prior to Antenna, Dan was a Managing Director with Ross & Company, a leading boutique executive search firm focused upon serving venture-capital financed, development stage companies. He joined Ross & Company in November 2006 after a 14-year association with Spencer Stuart in Atlanta and Stamford, CT where he was a long-standing partner and one of the most senior members of the firm’s global high technology team.
The founder of Spencer Stuart's Enterprise Software Practice (which he established and led for ten years), Dan went on to co-manage the company's North American Technology, Communications & Media Practice. In this role, he was responsible for overseeing the Software, Professional Services, Internet and Venture Capital specialty practices.
Earlier in his career, Dan served as the senior human resource executive for Engineering Automation Systems (EAS), a venture capital-financed vendor of CAD/CAE workstations. Prior to EAS, he held increasingly responsible staff and management positions with Bunker Ramo Information Systems, a leading vendor of on-line computer systems for financial institutions.
A Knight of the Order of Malta, he is dedicated to serving the needs of the less fortunate. Dan currently is a Director of Malta House, a home for unwed mothers. He also is a past Board Member of Project Pierre Toussaint, a school for homeless street children in Haiti that he helped to establish as well as The Thomas Merton House, an inner-city soup kitchen and day shelter. Dan earned his undergraduate degree from Holy Cross College.

Richard D'Amore
General Partner, North Bridge Venture Partners
Rich D'Amore has been with North Bridge since inception and has been in the venture business since 1982. Prior to 1982 he worked as a consultant at Bain and Company and as a certified public accountant with Arthur Young and Company. Mr. D'Amore's venture investing is targeted at the software industry with his investments being split between early-stage projects and special situations. Virtually all have been active projects, including structuring initial transactions and assuming a board seat. He has focused his investment activity in the Northeast.
Rich is a graduate of Northeastern University (summa cum laude), 1975, and the Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration (Baker Scholar), 1980.
John Gannon
General Partner, Polaris Ventures
Prior to Polaris, John was chief financial officer of Firefly Network Inc., which was sold to Microsoft in 1998. Before Firefly Network, John held a number of positions at Powersoft Corporation, including chief financial officer and treasurer. During his tenure at Powersoft, from 1992 to 1995, the company grew annual sales from $21 million to over $200 million. John was instrumental in the company's successful initial public offering in 1993 as well as in several mergers and acquisitions during that period. John came to Powersoft from Trinzic Corporation, where he was chief financial officer, and Cullinet Software, Inc. where he held the positions of vice president of administration and treasurer. Prior to Cullinet, he was a certified public accountant for Coopers & Lybrand.
John received his BA in accounting from Northeastern University. He is a member of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Martin Levion
Former Director and Head of Derivatives and Financial Products Group, Societe Generale
Martin Levion oversaw the Group's activities including Fixed Income Derivatives, Credit Derivatives, Municipal Finance and Derivatives, Structured Credit Products, credit arbitrage, emerging markets arbitrage, principal finance, and structured tax-based products. Mr. Levion joined SG in 1990 when he founded the DFP Group. Previously he was a member of the Interest Rate Swap Group and then the Fixed Income Arbitrage Group at Salomon Brothers in New York and London. Before joining Salomon, he was a trader in the Municipal Bond department at Lehman Brothers. Mr. Levion has been an active early round investor in many private equity funded technology and service companies and has served on the boards of Conley Corp (subsequently sold to EMC), PFS Trader Tools, and Antenna.
Mr. Levion graduated in 1982 from Cornell University with a B.A. in Economics.
Justin J. Perreault
General Partner, Commonwealth Capital
Justin has 16 years of venture capital and operating experience in information technology industries. At Commonwealth Capital he focuses on enterprise software and communications infrastructure companies. Prior to joining Commonwealth, Justin was CEO of Object Design, a publicly held software company. Earlier, he was a vice president at Harvard Management Company, responsible for information technology venture investments, and a consultant with McKinsey &Co., Inc.
Justin received an MBA from the Harvard Business School and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Peter Semmelhack
Founder
Peter is the company's founder and leads the Antenna product strategy and management team, combining vertical market expertise, technical know-how, creative vision and entrepreneurial experience. Peter is a frequent speaker at IT and Field Service conferences and tradeshows and has written numerous articles for industry publications.
Prior to founding Antenna, Peter founded the digital media production company, Antenna Tool & Die Co., where he led large-scale design and programming projects including Web sites, television commercials and CD-ROMs for ABC Television, Time Warner, IBM, MCI, and General Mills. Most notably, Peter created and designed Microsoft's fall 1996 television ad campaign "Where do you want to go today?" in conjunction with Wieden & Kennedy. Peter has a BA in economics from Brown University.
Brad Waugh
President & CEO, NaviNet, Inc.
Brad successfully sold his first company in 1998, c.w. Costello & Associates, Inc. (a Y2K services firm), after growing the firm from $15M to $78M in three years. The firm was sold to Covansys, a publicly traded company based in Farmington Hills, MI. His most recent company, Watch Hill Partners, Inc. (started December 2000), was founded to focus on Fortune 1000 company's that had existing CRM implementations that needed to be optimized for a greater ROI through change management and mobile technology. Watch Hill Partners was sold to Mastercard International in May of 2004, forming a new consulting unit, Mastercard Advisors, and the Customer Experience Group. Brad recently won the 2004 Technology Award for Entrepreneurship, from EFNE (Entrepreneurship Forum of New England. Brad is the founder and past president of the RI Technology Council, and a past board member of Boston University, where he earned his BS/BA degree from the School of Management. Brad has also served as the Commissioner of the RI Convention Center Authority and the Narragansett Bay Commission.
